Some details about this bike...
I have two Yamaha XJ900F motorcycles, this one and an older (1991 vintage) XJ900F. This XJ however, is black and purple coloured and bought in Spring 1994. This one has been protected from me and only done 3800 miles! Mostly in dry weather too - except for the day I collected it when it rained!
In fairness to this bike, I havent had any problems at all with it. But to be truthful, it hasnt really gone anywhere so havent had the "time" to experience any problems! Like the older XJ, I have started to maintain the brake callipers just to prevent any furture problems I might encounter with cracking brake discs because the pistons seize if they get dirty.
One thing I have learnt from the older XJ, is that the front suspension on this model is too bouncy and so I have upgraded the fork springs for touring strength springs. Why Yamaha decided to remove the Anti-dive mechanism on my two bikes Im not sure.
Also, like the older bike, I have also fitted extra spot lights, Fiamm snail horns (very loud!) and Givi pannier luggage racks and engine crash bars. Oh, and an alarm.![[Dividing line]](purpbar.gif)
