Picture of Chez`s Parents

This is (briefly), a page about my Mother and Father.

Or go back to my main page.

new paragraphThis is a page about my parents.new paragraph
Picture of Chez`s Mothernew paragraphSadly my Mother, (Edna), died back in 1988 from cancer aged 53. She was originally from London - a Cockney - but moved to South Wales with her parents when she was a young girl.
Mam used to work in one of the local factories as a seamstress.

new paragraphDad, Billy, is now retired and I guess hes enjoying himself - although he does complain that he still doesnt have enough time to do everything he wants! Goodness knows how he used to manage when he was working. (Thats probably why I`m always so tired!). One of Dads hobbies is gardening and wherever we've lived, he has always spent his spare time looking after the gardens.

Picture of Dad`s Pushbikenew paragraphCycling is also something that my Father enjoys and we've been out a few times together on our pushies! This is his latest pushie - its a Raleigh "Classic" which is just over two years old now.

new paragraphDad is also responsible for getting me into driving - both cars and bikes. In fact, it was one of his friends that sold me my
first motorbike!

new paragraphDad did a lot of his courting on motorcycles and I guess was trying to relive his younger days when he introduced me to motorcycling. Phil started riding after me, and then Dad got himself a motorcycle after a 15 year gap.

new paragraphHis last bike was a BSA 650cc Golden Flash with a sidecar fitted which he owned in the mid 1960's. I can still remember vaguely sitting across the tank as a toddler pretending to ride the bike! The bike was black and gold in colour and the registration number was VTG 52.
His first motorcycle was also a BSA, but was a 250cc C11 and its registration number was ONY 589
Does anyone have any information on the history of either of these bikes since the mid 1960's? Please email me if you have any stories / details etc. Dad and I would like to know what has happened to the bikes since. Thanks.

Picture of DAd`s Honda CM250Tnew paragraphDad`s return to biking again in the mid 1980's was with Honda's CB250T which was a custom styled motorcycle. Dad owned two of these bikes, the first of which he bought secondhand, and the second he bought off Phil. The photo shows the bike "naked" as panniers and a screen were later added.

new paragraphOther bikes Dad has owned (all custom styled), range from a second Honda CB250T, a Suzuki GS250N, a Yamaha XV535 and while he was thinking about getting a second XV535, he saw his current bike, the Yamaha XV750 which is the same age as my second XJ900F, and bought in 1994.

Picture of Dad and his XV750new paragraphDad uses the XV750 purely for leisure and so it only gets used occaisionally if the weather is ok! It currently has about 7000 miles on the clock and is fitted with a screen and Givi luggage racks.
